Site-specific sound installation

The pipe organ (ex church of the Saints Filippo and Giacomo in Brescia) was transferred to the private chapel of Palazzo Rota in Bovezzo in 1812. The sound of the organ based by some recordings of Toccata by Girolamo Frescobaldi, is suddenly and irregularly emitted from the speakers and falls to the visitor for several minutes. When the whole space is filled with the sound and reverberation, the sound of the other video installation will be wiped out, then will be heard again when the sound of the organ stops (masking effect). In this way, people go back and forth between the past and the present, thinking about the existence of the organ that was once there and the history of the church.
